Efiwe

Efiwe is a non-profit organization that collects donated books in the US and ship them to libraries in Africa. It provides a platform for volunteers to do fundraising and keep track of all the collected books. The librarians in Africa can also check all the books' status and request for the textbooks using the platform. The website also welcomes guest to browse around and become a potencial volunteer.

The developers are currently working on the back-end for the website. It will be ready in the end of 2019.

My role at Efiwe as a UI/UX designer is focusing on user research, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing.

Research

Interview

In order to know more about the end users, I started my research from interviewing people that will be using the app. I created a script for the interview and tried to figure out what's a perfect platform for organization operators, volunteers, librarian, and guest who are interested in this topic.

I conducted interviews with organization operators and volunteers in the US over video chat.

Based on the interviews, I learned that the volunteers want a platform for fundraising and tracking all the books' status. The organization operator wants a website showing social media buttons on every page. The librarian expects that they can search what books are available by name or categories.
